New Year’s 2022
At the stroke of midnight.
A new beginning.
As the clock struck midnight on New Year’s 2022, Jacob proposed to Ashley. A new year began with a new chapter in our story together.

OUR JOURNEY
From a midnight proposal to 100,000 Whatnot friends. This is our story.

As the clock struck midnight on New Year’s 2022, Jacob proposed to Ashley. A new year began with a new chapter in our story together.

In May 2022, we got married. After a midnight proposal to start the year, we began this next chapter as husband and wife.

In May 2022, we celebrated our honeymoon in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Our next adventure together, now as husband and wife.

In May 2023, we started building our first home and decided to thrift everything inside. Looking for pieces to make it our own opened our eyes to just how much vintage was waiting in our city. With so many people choosing Florida for retirement, our local thrift stores felt full of possibilities.
Then we started seeing videos of people reselling their finds online. We looked at each other and thought, “We could totally do this!” What began as a plan for our home became the beginning of House of Coop.

In June 2023, we decided to start selling on Instagram. For the first time, we were selling online and shipping our vintage finds to new homes. House of Coop was growing beyond our own city, one carefully packed piece at a time.

In June 2023, we started flipping a few thrift finds on Facebook Marketplace.

In July 2023, we rented our first space at an antique mall in Palmetto, Florida. With our vintage finds on display and the House of Coop name on the shelf, a new chapter began.

In July 2023, we took part in a pop-up sale at a vintage market outside a local antique mall. We brought our finds outdoors, sharing a little of House of Coop with the market.

In August 2023, we opened a new vintage booth in Bradenton, Florida. It gave us a space to share our love of vintage and the pieces we loved finding.

In October 2023, we discovered Whatnot and hosted our first show from our 600-square-foot apartment. That little apartment became the starting point for our Whatnot journey, one that would grow far beyond those walls.

In December 2023, we moved into our first home. The home we had started building in May was ready for its next chapter, filled with the thrifted finds that helped spark our love of vintage.
We hung the infamous green chandelier in the room that would later become our Whatnot room. A little piece of vintage was already making the house feel like House of Coop.

In March 2024, we reached our first Whatnot sales milestone: 1,000 sales. It took us six months to reach that first thousand! Every purchase was part of that moment, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped us get there.
In May 2024, after reaching our goal of 1,000 sales, we moved our Whatnot selling space from the garage into our guest room. We knew we wanted to keep doing this for the long term, and it was time to make room for that next chapter inside our home.

In January 2025, we moved our Whatnot selling space out of the guest room and into our flex space. It became the studio we still use today, giving our vintage finds a new place to shine.

In February 2025, we held a huge mini show featuring over 300 minis. That show pushed us past 10,000 Whatnot friends, turning a celebration of tiny treasures into a big moment for our growing community.

By March 2025, our flex space was continuing to evolve. We kept decorating, arranging our finds, and adding the details that made our Whatnot studio feel more like us.

In March 2025, we attended our first Whatnot seller meetup in Tampa, Florida. We went with Jacob’s mom and sister, known as HarpersCloset on Whatnot. It was a chance to connect with fellow sellers beyond the screen and share the experience with family.

In April 2025, we both left our corporate jobs and officially became full-time at House of Coop.

In May 2025, we were asked to do our first estate sale in Tennessee. Kamryn had been watching our shows and messaged us to ask if we could help her mom sell her collection. That message brought us to Tennessee, and it was how we met Kamryn. Today, she is part of the House of Coop team as our live show moderator.

In July 2025, we had a custom shelf made for our Whatnot room. With the new shelving came a bigger project: planning a whole new setup for the space.

On July 16, 2025, we were invited to cohost with Whatnot Sellers on Whatnot, sharing our story during a Seller Best Practices show.

In August 2025, we added black-and-white checkered floors to our Whatnot space. Alongside the custom shelving and green chandelier, the room was taking on even more of our style.

In October 2025, our Whatnot community reached 40,000 friends.

In November 2025, we worked with Whatnot to host our first Whatnot seller meetup in Tampa, Florida. Over 200 sellers attended, coming together to connect beyond the screen and celebrate the community we were so excited to be part of.

We began 2026 with 50,000 Whatnot friends. It was a milestone worth celebrating, made possible by the people who continued to show up and be part of House of Coop.
South Dakota’s Etc. for Her featured House of Coop in its February 2026 issue. The story explored our colorful home, our love of vintage, and how we turned that shared passion into a business.

In March 2026, we opened our 10×10 booth at Feedstore Antiques & Collectibles in Ellenton, Florida. It’s currently our only space where you can visit and shop our vintage finds in person.

In April 2026, we attended Whatnot’s first Seller Summit in Austin, Texas, where we were invited to speak at a workshop. It was a chance to share our experience, connect with fellow sellers, and be part of a first for the Whatnot community.

On April 7, 2026, we celebrated being featured in the Summer 2026 issue of Flea Market Decor. It was such a fun opportunity to share more of how we decorate our home and the vintage pieces we love! We went straight to the bookstore and found a copy on the shelf. Seeing our home in the pages of a magazine was such a surreal moment!

In August 2026, we reached 100,000 Whatnot friends. From a 600-square-foot apartment to a community this size, it’s been an incredible journey. Thank you for being part of it. There’s always room for one more.

In August 2026, we released our new House of Coop shirts, bringing our colorful style to something you could wear.

In August 2026, we launched House Key, opening a new chapter for the House of Coop community. GET YOUR HOUSE KEY
A behind-the-scenes look at one of our seller support shows in August 2026. Every Tuesday, we come together for a seller support show, making time for the community that’s been part of our journey.
